Becoming a Dental Assistant
Becoming a Dental Assistant
Our Dentists couldn’t do their jobs without our wonderful team of dental assistants. It’s why we thought why not ask our two Junior Dental Assistants; “Why did you become a Dental Assistant?”
Siena has been with our team since she was 17 years old and has quickly become one of our key team members. Here is what our Superstar Siena had to say:
“I’ve always been drawn to the medical field because of my genuine interest in health and the catalysts of ill health, so I knew I would find dental nursing intellectually rewarding. I also personally loved the idea of seeing patients’ confidence grow as they achieve a healthy, beautiful smile. The thought of helping people smile again makes every day worthwhile and makes the job feel like a fulfilling occupation that makes a real difference in people’s lives, rather than an arduous chore (as some jobs can be). I found that there’s also always a lot of room for personal and professional growth in this profession; I’m constantly learning new skills and attaining knowledge from the different health care professionals around me. I love that I can actively see scientific innovation having a practical application in improving the health of the population. When I was originally looking for a job, I wanted something dynamic, where every day would be different and require different skill sets. To this day, I still believe that dental assisting is one of the few careers that offers this unique attribute”
Jenna is our newest team member at Dentists on the Gold Coast and has fit in so well with the existing team. Here is what our ever-smiling Jenna had to say:
“Since I was a young girl playing Nurse with friends, I’ve known that a profession which encompasses compassion and empathy with medical expertise to help others obtain a better quality of life, would give me the most gratification. As these traits make us adept at comforting anxious patients, I enjoy being a nurturing presence to those who have a fear of coming to the dentist have the confidence and trust in us to put them at ease. I am constantly rewarded by seeing patients leave happy after we have boosted their confidence and self esteem, which further validates why I love being a Dental Nurse”
